Israeli Cabinet Votes Bill for
Strongman Government
By one vote the Israeli Cabinet voted and sent to the full Knesset a bill to replace the parliamentary system it has now with a strong presidential system. It was done to bring in far rightist Avigdor Lieberman into the government. Lieberman wants every Arab out of Israel and the territories. Israel Admits Using Phosphorus Bombs on Lebanese
After months of denial Israeli an Israeli official admitted that its army used phosphorus shells in Lebabnon. Minister Jacob Edery, said, "The IDF made use of phosphorous shells during the war against Hezbollah in attacks against military targets in open ground."
Dr. Hussein Hamud al-Shel, who works at Dar al-Amal hospital in Ba'albek, had charged that he had received three corpses "entirely shriveled with black-green skin," a phenomenon characteristic of phosphorus injuries
According to the Israeli paper Ha'aretz phosphorus has been used in World War II and Vietnam, but in recent years is looked on with horror because of the terrible injuries it causes and the near impossibility of putting out the fires. Many regard it as chemical warfare.
