Will Israel Loot Syria?
The website of the major Israeli paper Yedioth Ahronot in an opinon peace
includes an op-ed opinion piece which suggest that Israel should
raid Syria once Assad if overthrown. The excuse is that Syria's military hold "non-conventional" weapons.
The article written by Ariela Ringel-Hoffman notes, "Chief of Staff Yair Naveh made it clear 10 days ago already
that Syria holds one of the world’s largest
caches of non-conventional weapons, and added that
its missile arsenal covers the entire State of Israel."
Read between the lines. The regime in Israel is working itself up to
raid Syria once it is in chaos and wipe out or loot as much of its armaments as possible
This is a challenge to the independent Syrian rebels. (One assumes the ones armed and paid by Qatar and Saudi Arabia would
not be concerned by the disarming of Syria.) Can they propose to the hated and despicable Assad regime some truce or
plan to defend the homeland? Or are things too far gone?
